New to technology? Me too!

Imagine with me... You're a black female, knocking on the door of forty, haven't completed your degree and have an interest in the IT world... What do you do? 

Well, if you're anything like me, you can do like I did and go back to school, major in Communications and obtain a minor in Information Technology!

My IT experience is a bit above the average but also below professional. My first experience within computer technology came as I worked for Intel Product Support. This is where I gained most of my computer hardware understanding and networking knowledge. I currently work in the financial services industry. It's not Information Technology, but it pays the bills. I hope to gain the knowledge needed to obtain my CompTIA IT certification. From there I would like to get my CompTIA A+ certification, which is the minimum requirement needed to work in the Helpdesk department at my company. 

My company's IT Helpdesk employs people across the world and I love talking to the guys in Ireland. I like the Information Technology field because there's a lot of freedom and room for creativity in IT. If you can't find an app or program to get what you need done, you can use your knowledge and understanding of computers and coding to develop your own.  

I am a jack of all trades and master of none, Hopefully the knowledge and skills I gain from the IT classes I am taking will finally allow me to master at least one thing. 

But what about this "Stealth Nerd" thing? Well, A friend of my boyfriend once told me that I was the best "Stealth Nerd Girlfriend" because I know a lot more about technology than I put on to people.

So this is a blog about my experience learning about the world of Information Technology, Graphics, Coding, The Interwebs and all things nerdy!
